DB Schenker has opened its first logistics centre in Dubai entirely powered by solar energy.
Located in the vicinity of Al Maktoum International Airport, the logistics centre comprises 33,000 square metres total, and will become the central regional logistics hub in the Middle East for DB Schenker’s customers, including Unilever.
The temperature-controlled centre offers space for a total of 90,000 euro pallets in an area of 33,000 square metres total and has a 3,000 square metres of mezzanine for value-added services. The logistics centre’s service portfolio comprises warehousing including hazardous material storage, various value-added services, distribution and delivery services as well as ocean and air freight transport.
The logistics centre in Dubai is part of the “Eco Warehouses” property portfolio at DB Schenker with other properties located in Singapore, Helsinki, Klagenfurt, Tilburg and Dortmund.
